INTRODUCTION • The Importance of Thai Language • Thai Language is national language, communication tool and a cultural heritage. • A foundation for education • Problem in learning process of Hearing impaired students (HIS ) • The most Thai people think about the reading ability of the HIS that they can read Thai easily. • lack of research to compare learning achievements of HIS • This research is conducted to compare learning achievements of students in three different class levels between HIS and Normal Students (NS) in the Thai Language Study Group of Thungmahamek School of the Deaf.
Research Delimitation • Population : HIS who study Thai language • Sampling group : HIS enrolled in Thungmahamek School of the deaf in academic year of 2008 and 2009 • 33 students from class level 2 • 34 students from class level 3 • 15 students from class level 4
DATA ANALYSIS • The Researchers used raw and average scores from HIS and Normal Students (NS) of all three class levels to compare using learning archievement descriptive statistics, mean, standard deviation (SD) and percentage values.
RESEARCH RESULTS • the average scores of students learning achievement in Thai Language from HIS and NS (2008-2009)

CONCLUSIONS & DISCUSSION • When compared to find differences in score levels, it is found that students in class level 2, 3 and 4 have differences in average scores at 21.37%, 18.40% and 22.09%, respectively. Therefore, the HIS have a huge serious problem about learning, This finding is opposite from the most Thai people think about the reading ability of the HIS that they can read Thai easily, which is incorrect. • The difference in scores because hearing impaired people learn slower than normal people, • The importance thing for development their language are parents, learning process and surround environment. • Tools and media technology can explain Thai vocabulary using Thai sign language and illustrations of word meanings for their understanding and to help them remember easily.
