How Do You Convert Your Data? • Open your company in QuickBooks. Go to File, Utilities, Export and Export IIF Files. From the window that appears, select Chart of Accounts, Currency List (if the company uses multiple currencies); Employee Details and Payroll Items (if you use payroll). Click OK. • Open Sage 50 and choose the option to create a new Company. • Select "Yes. Convert my QuickBooks company to Simply Accounting." and click Next. (we are using Simply Accounting 2010 screenshots for demonstration purposes here)
Browse to select your QuickBooks company file, and click Next. • Select which information you want to convert and press Next. Your QuickBooks company should be open at this point.
Verify your fiscal year dates and click Next • Enter the file name and location of your Sage 50 company, and press Next. • Review the summary information, and click Next. • Sage 50 will now create your new company. • At this point you can open or print a summary of the conversion process. • Click on Next and then Finish • Because Sage 50 does not work the same way that QuickBooks does, it is important to check your Sage 50 settings and records to make sure your new company is set up correctly.
