  1. Testing, Testing • MAPS • This is the local test that students will take three (3) times a year. • Student shows growth over time • The growth score will indicate to the teacher whether your child will be proficient on the State Exam

  2. Testing, Testing • School-Wide Assessments (SWA) • This test will be given two (2) times a year. • The teacher will be able to see the student’s growth. • These tests are based on the state exam.

  3. Testing, Testing • NYS Exams • 5th Grade has Two (2) Exams • ELA-April 1 – 3 • MATH-April 30 – May 2

  4. Testing, Testing • We are keeping track as to the growth of your child throughout the school year. • The testing is used in evaluating the principal, teachers, and school district. • Low state test results can list us as “A school in need of improvement”
