As of February 1, 2006… Materials from NSDL-funded projects and other resource and data providers included: 584 unique collections of resources 1,084,715 individual items
Analyzing NSDL Usage • Distributed model of NSDL usage • NSDL.org --around 12,000 hits per month • NSDL.org plus a group of 8 other partner sites – around 100,000 hits per month

Contribute 1: Suggest a Resource Complete the Suggest a Resource Form Enter title, URL, description & contributor name on a form Easy to do; DLESE finishes the cataloging
Contribute 2: A Collection of Resources • Researchers & groups with many resources create a distinct collection • State collection purpose • Make metadata records in XML • Supports tailored searching
Contribute 3: News & Opportunities • Time-sensitive materials • Usually have start and end dates • Includes • Workshops • Conferences • Grants • Jobs • Career information • Calls for participation • Enter on a web form (can be a collection too)
