  2. Fasten your seat belts and hang on. We’re on our way to the Florida Everglades. On our way, let’s learn about the Everglades!

  4. All About the Everglades... The Everglades covers approximately 1.5 million acres. It is the largest subtropical wilderness in the United States. From December through April, it is mild in the Everglades and rarely gets down to freezing temperatures. In fact, the average winter temperature ranges from 53° – 77° F. Summers are much hotter and more humid, with average temperatures around 90° F. The Everglades are located by the Gulf of Mexico and affected by the Atlantic Hurricane Season from June – November. Also, the Everglades receive 60 inches of rain per year.

Why do you think that these invaders are a problem in the Everglades? How do they affect the organisms already living there?
