Coaching Characteristics • Believing • Players respond to you having faith in them • Help and guide • Encourage and cheer for • Understand and care for the individual needs for your team
Coaching Characteristics 2. Character • Humility • Self Controlled • Always see the positives • Always look for teaching moments
Coaching Characteristics 3. Knowledgeable • Good coach have an ability to break down the game • Fun & Fellowship is not an excuse for us not to be prepared • Make practices fun and challenging

Coaching Characteristics 5. Good Communicator • Constantly look for opportunities to talk to your team • We are using the game of softball to develop these channels of communication, so we can begin to speak into our players’ lives
Coaching Pitfalls • We equate success with winning, failure with losing • We let our emotions get the best of us • We expect all our players to be able to master skills taught • We are often afraid to have difficult conversations
