Welcome – Bell Ringer 10 November 4-8, 2013 • haven –a safe place • cluster(ed)–grouped together in a specific area or pattern • stimulate –to grow, to flourish, to help become profitable • resentment – extreme dislike, bitterness felt when someone does you wrong • flourish– to grow abundantly because of a favorable environment; to spread, to become profitable, to stimulate Come in, get bell ringer form, and get right to work!

  2. Tuesday’s job –give 3 examples of each word and then 1 nonexample. • haven ex. – shelter for runaways, church nonex. – jail • cluster • ex. –ant hill, city, word cloud • nonex. – links to related sites on the Internet

  3. Wednesday’s job – Draw a picture to help you remember the meaning of the word. resentment

Thursday – Write your own sentences showing you understand the meaning of the word, as it is being used in this class. flourish – The Southern colonies’ economy flourished as a result of their ability to grow and sell cash crops. stimulate – All 13 colonies profited as a result of the Triangular Trade Routes stimulating their economies.

  5. Friday – Add words and YOUR definitions to the glossary in the back of your spiral along with a synonym. H - haven –a safe place; refuge, shelter, sanctuary.
