Through an MoU working on a parallel commitment towards: Identifying a common road map to deployment and related business cases leading to: Implementation of in-vehicle equipment in all new vehicle models when feasible Willingness and readiness to carry the data from the Telecom operators Readiness to receive and act on the vehicle data from the PSAPs eCall (1): MoU Released for signature 26 May2004
The 4th Plenary Meeting, Hannover • Largest ever - over 120 members attended • Focus on deployment of eSafety systems • Strong participation from the Member States; insurance industry present for the first time • Highlights of the Forum Agenda: • High-Level Opening Remarks • Reports of the Working Groups: Towards pan-European deployment of eSafety • Panel Discussion: How to accelerate the deployment of eSafety
Hannover Main Conclusions (1) • Plans towards large-scale deployment of eSafety systems get more concrete • The need for urgent actions by the Member States on eCall implementation stressed – Germany ready to sign the MoU
Hannover Main Conclusions (2) • Reports by the User Outreach and Implementation Road Maps WGs welcomed – joint platform gets support • Industry proposes the setting up of Joint European Technology Initiative for eSafety
Follow-up • Distribution of the Draft Incentives Working Paper to all Forum members • Organising further meetings with eCall stakeholders (MS, insurance, telcos) • Finalising the Working Group Reports (Implementation Road Maps, User Outreach, Heavy Duty Vehicles, Digital Maps, RTTI) • Investigating the use of an MoU as a means to accelerate deployment of RDS/TMC • Organising of the HL meeting with the Member States on 18 October 2005 • Organising the eCall MoU signature event on the occasion of the HL Meeting
