What is Emmi Patient Education? • Emmi programs are a series of web-based, multimedia programs that educate patients and encourage them to take an active role in their care. • Emmi programs supplement information patients receive during their office visits. • Emmi programs are ordered by a physician for their patient. • For an Emmi demonstration visit: http://www.emmisolutions.com/demo/ • For an inventory of Emmi programs visit: Emmi Inventory • For the June 28th release, EMMI Chronic Condition Programs will be available through Epic. • Let Support know what other programs your office would like available in Epic and we will build those out.
How will patients view an Emmi program? • A patient must have an account on the new patient portal, MySpectrum. MySpectrum can be accessed from a computer with Internet access by going to myspectrumhealth.org • Patients can enroll in MySpectrum in several ways. Please refer to the MySpectrum Enrollment Workflow options training for more information. • Once a patient is logged into MySpectrum, their Emmi program will be provided in the MyEducation section of MySpectrum
Ordering an Emmi program from Epic Care • Patient diagnosis: Heart Failure • From the Visit Navigator: • Click ‘Dx and Orders’

After a Visit: View Results - In Basket • Results of tests that you ordered are sent to your In Basket. • Emmi patient education programs will automatically expire and no longer be viewable by a patient in MySpectrum 90 days from when the order was placed in EpicCare • Whether or not a patient completes viewing an Emmi patient education program or allows it to expire; the order result status in EpicCare will be set to FINAL
After a Visit: View Results - Chart Review • To view detailed information on the Emmi patient education Order, review the Order in Chart Review. • If the patient completed viewing the entire Emmi program from their MySpectrum • Whether or not a patient completes viewing an Emmi patient education program or allows it to expire; the order result status in EpicCare will be set to FINAL
After a Visit: View Results - Chart Review • To view detailed information on the Emmi patient education Order, review the Order in Chart Review. • If the patient did not complete viewing their Emmi patient education program in MySpectrum 90 days from when the Order was placed in EpicCare, the Component Result will state: Emmi program expired
After a Visit: View Results - Chart Review • To view detailed information on the Emmi patient education Order, review the Order in Chart Review. • If the patient completed viewing their Emmi patient education program in MySpectrum within 90 days from when the Order was placed in EpicCare, the Component Result will state: Emmi program completed
