CPAC – Fall Meeting 2007 Michael Gaura Emerson Process Management
Update • Rosemount Analytical Division of Emerson is currently working with CPAC and End Users • Terry Krouth, Ian Verhappen and others are internally providing historical information • Assessing needs and wants of our End Users • Including CAN, Hart, MODBUS, FF, Profibus and wireless communication methods • What information is wanted? • Is a NeSSi-based system for everyone?
Update – cont. • To Date, GC Projects have only included Gen I level components • Projects that focus on Gen II want FF connectivity
Concerns • Focusing on the use of the GC as a SAM • Good for end users that only intend to use NeSSi SCS with a GC • Not good for end users that want to use the systems with other analytical devices • SAM that operates independent of the analyzer • Still required • Gateway is good • Needs to direct communication across multiple buses
Communications • Potential exists for utilization of Smart Wireless Self-Organizing Networks
