The process itself is a pilot activity. • We were provided with activity planning tools that helped us focus on how to get where we want to. • We were able to define common gains and common constraints. • UNCT was able to select the activities that would represent real UN reform in Pakistan.

UN REFORM PAKISTAN - SYNOPSIS AS OF OCTOBER 2007 • Progress continued in July, August and September at differing rates in the 7 Working Groups of OMT. • A decision was taken for Working Groups to formally all meet once a month for half a day to share information, progress and elicit assistance and/or clarification where needed. • OMT decided to meet twice a month – with one OMT meeting per month dedicated to UN Reform matters and decisions. • OMT information overload overcome through use of Common Services Website, i.e. documents for review, information requests, reference documents are now loaded up weekly with an e-bulletin issued to all Working Group members. • Information flow now progressing smoothly albeit backlog to overcome.

WAY FORWARD • To access resources as needed in order to operationalize plans that have been reviewed, revamped and are inclusive • Staff time taken for these activities is still number one constraint • UNCT currently deliberating on: UN Village LoI, MoU and project proposal; MoU on internal staff; OMT Costed Workplan from Transformation Fund.
