Madrasa M&E System • Madrasa Resource Centre (MRC) ECD programme in East Africa • aim to increase access to and retention of children in marginalized communities at preschool to primary school. • The M&E in MRC aims • “to systematically track progress, evaluate outcomes and document Madrasa ECD programme milestones through participatory process”.

Lessons Learned Pilot Project Level • Community TOTs facilitate tailoring the approach to the level of pilot communities. • Mainstreaming CBM&E to the existing structure ensures continuity. • Building capacity of stakeholders in CBM&E is a continuing process
Lessons Learned Pilot Project Level • Triangulation and validation of information must be a built-in step of the whole CBM&E. • Motivation and reinforcement mechanism must be in place
Lesson Learned Community level: Involving community stakeholders in M&E create: • Teamwork and sharing of experiences of adjoining communities; • Strengthen and decentralize school support and accountability to CRTs; • Encourage accountability and responsibility
