  2. How I joined the service? • THIMUN Qatar is one of the biggest service that our school gives you a chance to join in. In 2011 THIMUN Qatar was hosted by our school and the event was big enough to give many students a chance to join and help. In 2011 was my first time to join that serves and I am really happy having a friend that convinced me to join that great service, I thought that it wont be fun but at the end I thanked my friend Ali Al-Misned for convincing me to join that great event. There were many options you can sign up for to be in this event, for the first time for me to join I decided that I sign up as an admin. I chose this service because I thought that getting a chance to be in this event will help me improve my communication skills for the future.

  3. What is THIMUN? • MUN is a smaller version of THIMUN, MUN was hosted by our school for the past 1-2 years. This year Qatar academy have hosted THIMUN which is a bigger event then MUN but quit similar, and involves many staff people such as students and teachers. THIMUN Qatar involves many countries from Asia and around the world, including several schools from Qatar. THIMUN is an event which has different events and for each event is has its own committee to debate in.

  4. Admin role in THIMUN • THIMUN Qatar need 4 main roles which students can sign up for, so the event will run smoothly and well. The 4 main roles are delegates, judges, press and admin. The admin role which was my role has a big part in the event because THIMUN is a huge event which need many admen's with different kind of jobs which are committee helper, security, head admin and committee leader. the role that I was involved in is committee helper which I was one of the had to help the delegates if they need anything and escort them to the bathroom and we have to secure the door and prevent the noise while the debate is going on.

  5. Planning the event • The first day of THIMUN Qatar which took place on Tuesday, we went to the convention center after school from 3pm-5pm, I those 2 hours we had a tour on guiding us were the committee room were and the theater, which will hold in the opening and closing ceremony. We had to go to the convention center for 3 days, Wednesday, Thursday and Friday 15-18 November 2011. we had to be there at 7am to prepare the committee room so when the delegates arrive everything has to be ready.

  6. Event • After planning and having several meetings before THIMUN have started, everything went great as planned. As my role which was an admin we have to put a lot of effort in three main parts which were keeping the committee clean before delegates enter and leave, and help them get things while there are debating, the second important part which was good as planned is the opening and closing ceremony, which we had to put the delegates into their seats on time with out wasting time and we had to guard the doors, which also went great.

  7. MYP • What suits me the best is being a ‘communicator’, which I had to get along with most of the people that were part of the event to get things well done. I also had to communicate with people from out of the country by helping them know which committee they have to got to by kindly escorting them.

  8. AOI • The best AOI that fits that service and event is human ingenuity. I chose this AOI because THIMUN is all about discussions and debates upon different topics, as I was a admin staff and was working in the committee were the debates take place in get to know more information about different topics while the delegates were debiting.

  9. Evaluation • THIMUN Qatar was the biggest event held in Qatar, and Qatar academy, this event has more then 500 students and staff members participating in it. Qatar academy will sponsor THIMUN Qatar each year in The convention center in November. All the roles that were in THIMUN Qatar went on successfully without any worries or something going wrong. It will be my pleasure to join THIMUN Qatar In the next few years before graduation, and getting higher roles.
