Game Reserve Allianetion • To accommodate the Wild life and Maasai desire for water from Talek River, the Kenya government allocated 154 plots to the Maasai residents in the neighbourhood,through a legal process that was approved by the residents and stake holders such as the Kenya Wildlife Services as well as the Local Government

Then Grabbers Moved in • Unknown to the residents a fellow Maasai in the name of Livingstone Kunini ole Ntutu conspired with lands officers and curved out a 4,000 acres of the National Reserve and claimed it was parcel 155. • The illegal allocation was challenged by the Narok County Council and the Ministry of Local Government as well as Kenya Wildlife Services
Court Cases • The court cases that followed were laced with intrigue through which witnesses were never allowed to give evidence. Prosecution witnesses turned defense witnesses and the prosecution failed to pursue its case. • Attorney General also mysteriously withdrew from the case and false witnesses were allowed to swear affidavits claiming property they never owned.
Media Co-option • As evidence emerged of the massive conspiracy to rob the Maasai of 4,000 acres of their heritage, the media houses were co-opted to protect the grabbers. All information, including a land mark court judgment that denied the grabbers the legal claim to the land, never saw the light of the day.
Maasai Demonstration Late last year the Maasai living in the neighbourhood Maasai Mara National Reserve demonstrated against the grabbing of 4,000 acres during with they implicated Director of Public Prosecutions Mr Keraiko Tobiko and Livingstone ole Ntutu. The Kenya government has continued to ignore a time bomb that can serious disrupt tourism industry and cause serious social-ethnic tensions
