  1. Lesson Eight: Documents Tab • Documents are written clinical reports. • The time range of reports can be adjusted to meet the clinician’s preferences. • Documents are located in files in the index tree. • Click on the folder to open the desired document.

  2. Documents Tabs • Clinical documents can be viewed from the Patient Chart by clicking on the Summary Documents tab or the All Documents tab. • Clinical documents are written reports contained within a patient’s chart.

  3. Adjusting the Documents Time Range • Adjust the time range for the document you are looking for by right clicking the information bar and select Change Search Criteria. • You can also select Change Search Criteria from the Index menu.

  4. Accessing Specific Documents • If documents are found for the time range entered, they are listed in the index tree in a folder. • Click a folder to view its contents. • Individual documents are denoted by a colored icon that reflects the documents status. • Double click the icon or the date of the document to open the document.

  5. Further Qualifying the Document Search Criteria • You can further qualify your document search criteria by making a selection from the box in the lower left corner . • Use the up and down arrows to switch documents. • You can also click on the Index menu and make a document type selection from the drop down box or select Color Legend for a list of document status colors.

Form Browser Tab • Use Form Browser for a convenient way to view the complete details of any charting that has been done for a selected patient via PowerForms. • You are able to see the charted information in its entirety. • Click on the Form Browser chart tab and select the desired sorting method. • Double click on a form’s name to open it.

  8. And…..As Always… Be sure to click the Refresh button to make sure you have access to the most current information.

Lesson Eight: Review • Clinical documents can be accessed from the Summary Documents and the All Documents Tabs. • Time ranges can be specified to select documents to view. • Documents are located in folders. • Click on the folder to open the document. • Click on Form Browser to view documentation done via forms. • Be sure to click on the Refresh button to make sure you are viewing the most current information.
