  1. Australia!!! The home of Kangaroos and Wallabies = D

  2. Kangaroo Jack??? Did you know that Kangaroo Jack was shot in Australia?? Either did I, and I doubt it really was. The funny thing is that there are more things to do or discover in this country than most people think. The food, outback, beaches, and the overall nature of this continent is overwhalmingly different than all others.

  3. Go see a play! =D The interesting part of this picture is that the historical building has many different purposes. The Sydney Opera house has held many upon many famous recordings throughout it’s history. This amphitheatre not only are the entrance steps 100 meters wide, but its structural design was the first of its time era. (1957-present)

  4. Its surrounded by the ocean! =D Whether or not you like the ocean is not my worry… it’s what you do in the water. Wind surfing and just surfing are the most popular in Australia, but there are many other things to do besides that. Scuba diving and deep see diving are also fairly approachable. Many tourist just like to be on there magnificent beaches.

  5. Magnificent hikes! =D The highest point on the mainland, Mount Kosciuszko, is only 2228 meters. Apart from Antarctica, Australia is the driest continent. Australia is the driest inhabited continent on earth. Its interior has one of the lowest rainfalls in the world and about three-quarters of the land is arid or semi-arid. Its fertile areas are well-watered, however, and these are used very effectively to help feed the world

  6. Who lives here?!?! Immigration is an important feature of Australian society. Since 1945, over six million people from 200 countries have come to Australia as new settlers. Migrants have made a major contribution to shaping modern Australia. People born overseas make up almost one quarter of the total population.

  7. RUGBY!!! There has been much re-organisation in NRL competition history. There was the New South Wales Rugby League (dating back to 1908), the Australian Rugby League, Super League and then finally the NRL. teams will play 8 games to a round, over 25 rounds. The winner of each game will be awarded 2 points on the NRL ladder. The season will commence mid-March and carry through till September. At the end of the season the top 8 teams on the NRL ladder qualify for the finals series.

  8. This stimulating game is the perfect way to combine gentle exercise and fresh air in attractive surroundings. A golf course is a great place to meet new people, spend time with your friends/family and lock in that big business deal. You can show up at a golf course alone and play with anybody there - the networking opportunities are endless. The most popular destinations for a golfing holiday in Australia is the Gold Coast, Murray River and the Sunshine Coast. Australian Open!!!

  9. Cricket anybody??? The Ashes cricket series is played between the English and Australian test sides. Dating back to 1882, The Ashes is one of the most celebrated rivalries in international cricket and is fiercely fought over a 5-test series. To date, there has been a total of 63 Ashes series played, of which Australia has won 31 and England has won 27 - the remaining five series were drawn. The series are played in Australia and England alternatively, and each match is generally played at a different cricket ground.

  10. Some funnn facts!!! • Apparently the first European settlers in Australia drank more alcohol per person than any other community in the history of mankind. Australian mines (one of our most important industries, which accounts for 15% of Australia's GDP) cover 0.02% of Australia's land mass. More land is occupied by pubs. (Can't find any statistics on the GDP here. My guess is: substantial) In 1954 Bob Hawke made it into the Guinness Record Book: he sculled 2.5 pints of beer in 11 seconds. Bob Hawke went on to become the Prime Minister of Australia

  11. Alice Springs. . . Its location smack bang in the middle of the continent makes it THE place to go if you want to see some of the Australian Outback. Its historical sites and attractions make it THE place to be if you want to get a feel for what it used to be like, over hundred years ago...

  12. Cold Hard facts Australia is both the largest island and the smallest, flattest continent on earth. The name indicates the location: 'Terra Australis' means 'Southern Land'. Australia lies between 10 and 39 degrees South latitude, between the Indian and the Pacific oceans. Land Area: 7,617,930 sq km. Only 6.55% of this area are considered arable. Length of Coastline: 25,760 km Lowest Point: Lake Eyre -15 mHighest Point: Mount Kosciuszko 2,229 m

  13. W3ird facts??? • Banks are open Monday through Thursday from 9:30am to 4pm, Friday 9:30am to 5pm. General business hours are Monday through Friday from 8:30am to 5:30pm. Shopping hours are usually 8:30am to 5:30pm weekdays and 9am to 4 or 5pm on Saturday. Many shops close on Sunday, although major department stores and shops in tourist precincts are open 7 days. • Australians write their dates day/month/year; so March 6, 1958, is 06/03/58. Drug stores are called "chemist shops" or "pharmacies." Australian pharmacists are permitted to fill only prescriptions written by Australian doctors. Dial tel. 000 anywhere in Australia for police, ambulance, or the fire department. This is a free call from public and private telephones and needs no coins. The minimum drinking age is 18. Random breath tests to catch drunk drivers are common, and drunk-driving laws are strictly enforced. Getting caught drunk behind the wheel will mean a court appearance, not just a fine.

  14. Cruise Anybody??? Melbourne has thriving Italian, Greek and Asian communities, each with their own quarter. The architecture in the city and sprawling suburbs is often fascinating - a blend of Gothic cathedrals, Victorian iron lace, Edwardian, Australian ranch style and modern contemporary design. The city has four distinct seasons and usually enjoys a pleasant, temperate climate. However, winters are usually cold, windy and rainy, and summers see some swelteringly hot days. Indeed, sometimes all four seasons occur in one day

  15. AMP Tower Standing at 305m (1001ft) high, Sydney Tower is the tallest building in Sydney. Located in the Central Business District in the heart of the city, visitors can experience amazing views across Sydney Harbour from the Observation Deck. The tower, which was completed in 1981, also has a revolving restaurant which slowly rotates through 360° views. Visitors can also experience the OzTrek attraction, a simulated journey showcasing Austalia's culture, history and geography. The Sydney Tower itself forms part of the Westfield Centrepoint complex which is home to around 140 shops, as well as the Centrepoint Convention and Exhibition Centre.

  16. Great Barrier Reef! Air: Brisbane Airport, Cairns Airport; many domestic airlines fly to national airports located closer to the Reef on the Australian mainland. Water: The Great Barrier Reef can only be reached by boat; tour operators can arrange transfer from mainland Australia to resort islands. Covering a geographical area of 35 million hectares (86 million acres) and stretching approximately 2300km (1429 miles) along the coast of northeastern Australia from Bundaberg to Cape York, the Reef is bigger in size than the states of Victoria and Tasmania combined. How To get there…
