  2. Eastern Screech owl These supremely camouflaged birds hide out in nooks and trees through the day, so train your ears and listen for them at night. They can be either mostly gray or mostly reddish-brown (rufous). Trees define the eastern screech-owl’s habitat. Ari Norris

  3. Three-baded Armadillo the three-banded armadillo doesn't dig burrows instead takes refuge in the abandoned burrows of other animals such as anteaters. Found in the most arid parts of the gran Chaco. Their shells close completely. Brianna McIntosh
