8-Hour Ozone Standard • Standard is 80 ppb (averaged over an 8 hour period) • Exceedance at a monitor is when an 8-hour average of values is calculated to be > 85 ppb on any day
2005 Ozone Season • 27 days with exceedances • June – 10 days • July – 5 days • August – 8 days • September – 4 days • 93 exceedances • All monitors
2005 Exceedances by Monitor Data still to be validated by States
Violation • Violation of the standard is determined by averaging the 4th highest annual maximum average by monitor over a 3 year period (> 85 ppb) • Based on 2003-2005 data, West Alton and Orchard Farm monitors are in violation
