During the Next 6 Weeks… • You’ll get a crash course in the disciplines that make up “English Studies,” going well beyond what is generally offered at the high school level and exploring the very identity of this volatile field. • You’ll complete a major project in a discipline and on a specific topic of your own choosing. Although you’ll consult with instructor mentors, the great bulk of the piece will be built on your own efforts—researching, focusing, developing, shaping, and polishing. • You’ll collaboratively produce your own online magazines, working on all phases of magazine creation and experiencing the habits of real-world scholars. • You’ll complete a Portfolio which will “show off” your work from throughout the 6 weeks and reflect on the experience and what you learned.
And that’s not all… • You won’t have to be embarrassed anymore for enjoying books, being a good writer, and in general going cuckoo for language. • You’ll decide that you want to spend the rest of your of life studying one of the fabulous disciplines in English Studies. Well, maybe
