TAG APPLICATION • STUDENTS: • The TAG application is ONLINE and available at: http://www.universityofcalifornia.edu/admissions/transfer/guarantee/index.htmlbeginning July 1st. • You can only submit ONE TAG. • Qualifications vary depending on the UC. • You need to be prepared to self-report academic information. • Submit the TAG DURING the TAG filing period of: Sept. 1st - 30th. • You must also COMPLETEa UC Admission Application during the admission filing period of Nov. 1st – 30th even if you complete a TAG. If you received a TAG – state it on the admission application. • A TAG is OPTIONAL for admissions.
TAG APPLICATION Students - Be prepared! The information found on the TAG application includes: • The Term you are applying for. • Campus & major you are applying to. • Demographics information. • Use the drop down menus to report schools, courses, units and grades, including AP (Advanced Placement) & IB (International Baccalaureate) • Report ALL courses you have completed and ALL schools you have attended.
AFTER THE APPLICATIONTER • A confirmation will be sent to you via email. Make sure to check your email often including junk folders and place them in your TRUSTED contacts. • TAG decisions will be sent to you via email. • Decisions are expected to be sent mid-November. • State whether you received a TAG on UC application by November 30th deadline.
ELIGIBILITY • All participating UC campuses have a fall quarter TAG only, with the exception of UC Merced which offers a Spring TAG (May 1-30). • Minimum UC transferable units completed to submit a TAG is 30 semester. • UCD has a full time requirement with exceptions for part time. • Minimum UC transferrable units required to fulfill a TAG is 60 semester. • Some campuses require English Composition and Transfer Math to be completed by Fall 2011. • Deadline to complete all other TAG qualifications is by end of Spring 2012. • IGETC completion is not required for TAG eligibility, with the exception of UC San Diego. • There are unit limits if you have college credit from a 4-year university.
TAGS AND MAJORS • UC Riverside • Major guaranteed, no excluded majors. • UC Irvine • Major not guaranteed, some excluded majors. • UC Santa Barbara • Some majors guaranteed, some excluded majors. • UC San Diego • Major not guaranteed, no excluded majors. • UC Santa Cruz • Some majors guaranteed, no excluded majors. • UC Merced • Major guaranteed, no excluded majors. • UC Davis • Major guaranteed, some excluded majors.
EXCLUDED TAG MAJORS • The following majors are excluded for TAG • UCD- Avian Sciences, Undeclared programs, Landscape Architecture and Managerial Economics are approved in a “pre-major” status. • UCI- Arts and Humanities, Biochemistry and Molecular Biology, Business Administration UCI- Dance, Developmental and Cell Biology, Genetics, Humanities and Arts, Microbiology and Immunology, Music, Neurobiology, Nursing Science, Plant Biology • UCM- None • UCR- None • UCSD- None • UCSB- Dance (B.A., B.F.A), Music (B.M.), Theater (B.F.A)-All majors in the College of Creative Studies • UCSC- None
GPA REQUIREMENTS • UC Riverside • 3.0 UC Transferrable GPA • UC Irvine • 3.2 UC Transferrable GPA • UC Santa Barbara • 3.2 UC Transferrable GPA • UC San Diego • 3.5 UC Transferrable GPA • UC Santa Cruz • 3.0 UC Transferrable GPA • UC Merced • 2.8 – 3.0 UC Transferrable GPA (dependant upon major) • UC Davis • 3.2 – 3.3 UC Transferrable GPA (dependant upon major)
WHAT’S NEXT? Check out the TAG website after July 1st 2011 and begin the TAG application. Determine if you will need a counselor’s help. Make an appointment to see a counselor to review your application before submitting. If you need to see a counselor make an appointment afterspring grades are posted. http://www.butte.edu/transfer
IGETC Certification • Some schools require IGETC Certification for admission. • Check with your UC to determine whether IGETC is required for your major. • If an IGTEC Certification is required make an appointment with the Transfer Counseling Center to have an IGETC Certification completed and sent to the university Admissions Office for you.
What’s Next? • The TAG Application gets submitted. • The TAG Applications get routed to the UC, then back to us for approval. • A Notification of Approval should occur by November 15th.

Personal Statement If your TAG is approved, the UCs will NOT be reading your personal statement for admissions purposes. Instead, your personal statement can be geared towards obtaining scholarships.
