Anaconda by Victoria Reding
There are five different groups of animals with vertebrates. These classifications are: • Mammals • Fish • Reptiles • Birds • amphibians
Classifications The anaconda is classified as a reptile because it is cold blooded. It is scaly and it breathes by using lungs. People use to believe that sea monsters were real. Maybe they were seeing a huge anaconda.
My Animal’s Classification • The anaconda is different from most reptiles because it does not lay eggs. • 20 to 40 baby snakes are born at one time. • In the sun anacondas look gold with black spots.
Appearance • Anacondas are greenish-brown with a double row of black oval spots on the back and smaller white markings on the sides. Their scaly skin glistens and looks like it is wet, but is dry to the touch. The nostrils are on top of the snout.
Appearance • The longest anaconda is 37.5 feet (11.4m) long. There are probably even bigger anacondas that have not been seen.
Animal Adaptation • My animal is made to strangle its prey so that the prey will die! Then the anaconda can eat. Anacondas swallow its prey whole. They usually like turtles, mice, fish, birds, and small animals.
Animal Adaptation An anaconda does not live in a group, it lives alone! Anacondas are one of the biggest snakes in the world. Anacondas live Understory and Forest Floor layers of of the rainforest.
Appearance Some anacondas are very fat and aggressive when it comes to food. They eat their prey head first. The anaconda’s jaws open very wide.
