Pre-Seed Workshop • PSW is 2 ½ day community event • Rally community talent and resources around academic researchers with patented inventions • Create 6 - 8 teams for each workshop • Series of structured hands-on sessions • Investigate commercial potential of inventions and business case for a pre-seed stage companies • Teams leave with a thin commercialization plan • Across NYS: • 201 Idea teams have participated (1200+ people) • 68 companies formed

  10. Business Plan Contest • January – April • Eligibility: For-profit startups within 9-county Rochester/Finger Lakes region • 4 educational workshops • Presentation practice • Winners announced at Celebration luncheon on April 15th • Over $50,000 cash and prizes

The Entrepreneurs Network (TEN) • Four-month long class • Four different 2-day boot camps: • Entrepreneurship (business plan, strategy) • “Building Blocks” (leadership, marketing, financial model) • Sales Effectiveness • Investor Presentation • Local and national instructors – Derby Management, Boston • Completing Class X right now • Class XI begins: May 2011 (only 15-20 slots per class)
