WHAT IS A BIRD ? • A bird is an animal with two wings, feathers and two legs and a head with a beak.
The Australian king parrot • Lives in North Queensland in the Australian Rainforests • Eats seeds and leaves. • They grow to at least 42cm • Eats by holding large fruit with left foot and tearing with its beak.
Toucans • The Toucan owns one of the biggest beaks in the world. • So far there are 40 kinds discovered . • They have a very large and brightly coloured bill. They eat insects, small reptiles and chicks eggs. They mostly feed on fruits.
What is an insect? • An insect is an animal with six or more legs and a body divided into three parts.
The Giant Tiger Centipede • Is one of the smallest predators on the forest floor. • They hunt their prey by biting them. • They can grow up to 25cm long. • They survive by hunting and eating mice and lizards.
Termites There are hundreds of different types of termites. They are vegetarians. Live in colonies which are ruled by the queen. Mainly live underground or hidden in deadwood.
South AmericanCATERPILLAR. • Looks like a guinea pig. Nick name - Fire Beast. • Are very DANGEROUS. • IF you touch there spines you can get severe headaches and damage to skin.
