What is the Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU)? • A stable environment which contains many machines and other types of equipment used to care for sick infants. • Equipment includes but is not limited to: -incubators -bililights -blood pressure monitors -umbilical catheters
Infants in the NICU • Needs: -Respiratory Assistance -Increase Weight (feeding assistance) -Heart Rate Monitoring -Stable and quiet environment
Research Question • How does the life and work of a NICU music therapist effect the infants and staff?
Method • Based research questions on literature review • Internet generated survey • Dispersed to 42 NICU educated music therapists through e-mail • Data observed at surveymonkey.com
