  3. Drafting • Start • Use prewriting organizer • Add supporting ideas • Keep writing

Revising • Purpose: Make changes until your writing is clear, complete and interesting. • Reread what you have written. • Read it to a peer/teacher. • Ask peers/teachers for suggestions. • Add rich details (example adjectives,adverbs) • Use dictionary and thesaurus to vary language. • Rearrange ideas and works (cute and paste,vary sentences.

  5. Editing • Purpose: Make the paper easier to read by making corrections. • Capital letters • Punctuation • Spelling • Spacing between words. • Indentations • Complete sentences • Paragraph format vs. a list of sentences.

  6. Publishing • Publish • Purpose:To share with others. • Write final draft (or type) and add illustrations if desired. • Show final draft to teacher. • Read final draft aloud. • Display • Add final draft to portfolio.
