  3. POSTGRADUATE TEACHER TRAINING • Early Years 3 – 7 • Primary 7– 11 • Secondary 11 – 16 • Post Compulsory 16+ • Future Teachers GTP

  4. POSTGRADUATE TEACHER TRAINING • GCSE Maths, English – Grade C or above • Primary & Early Years require Science GCSE Grade C

POSTGRADUATE TEACHER TRAINING • HonsDegree 2:2 or above – dependant on provider • Secondary & Post Compulsory - 50% subject content • ( ICT, MFL and Music) • Primary & Early Years – any degree subject • Basic ICT knowledge • Classroom experience – min 10 days • Competitive programmes often require more

  6. POSTGRADUATE TEACHER TRAINING • Most popular route/choice • Focus on developing teaching • 1 year FT, 2 years PT or Flexible options • Cost – To be confirmed for 2012 • Bursaries available in certain subjects • GTTR – 2 choices only

  7. POSTGRADUATE TEACHER TRAINING • Fees to be confirmed by TDA for 2012 • £3,375 for 2011 • Bursaries available in: • Physics, Chemistry, Maths = £9.000 • Combined Science, Biology, MFL = £6,000

POSTGRADUATE TEACHER TRAINING • Future Teachers (GTP) • • Train to teach Mathematics, Chemistry or Physics • • One-year, full-time programme where all study takes place in school • • A training salary of £15,841 (pro-rata) • • Leads to a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) • 2:1 Degree Requirement • Greater focus on leadership
