Rotary is an organisation of business and professional leaders united worldwide, who provide humanitarian service, encourage high ethical standards in all vocations and help build goodwill and peace in the world. The first Rotary club was founded in Chicago, Illinois, USA on 23rd February 1905. Today Rotary consists of some 1.2 million service-minded men and women belonging to more than 32 000 Rotary clubs in 168 countries around the world. Rotarians plan and carry out a remarkable variety of humanitarian, educational and cultural projects and exchange programmes that touch people’s lives in their local communities and our world’s community. Individual Rotarians are members of local Rotary Clubs and through these they are members also of the Rotary International organisation. THE ROTARY CLUB OF JOHANNESBURG NORTH CENTRAL The Rotary Club of Johannesburg North Central is one of 49 clubs in Gauteng and its approximately 20 members meet every Monday at 12h30 for 12h45 until 14h00 for fellowship and interesting and informative programmes dealing with topics of local and global importance. THE FOUR WAY TEST of the things we think, say or do: Is it the TRUTH? Is it FAIR to all concerned? Will it build GOODWILL and BETTER FRIENDSHIP? Will it be BENEFICIAL to all concerned?
