Layering Try not to limit yourself to one layer, experiment and see what you can come up with by mixing mediums and layers
Mixed Media Experiment with media. Try watercolor, sharpie, colored pencil, oil pastels. Your sourcebook is a place to grow, make mistakes and try new things
Think outside the box! Draw what you see, or draw from imagination. A simple object can become something totally different
Respond to artwork around you What do you see In society? Did you visit a museum or art show? What inspires you in the real world? Reflect and respond in your sourcebook. Make connections, draw inspiration.
Design Have a passion for fashion? Draw sketches of future outfits Watch project runway? Reflect and create your own piece
Fill the Space! Use your space effectively. Take what you have learned in class and translate it in your own way. Future project- Independent Projects
Go beyond the Pages Have a project you want to try at home? You don’t have to limit yourself to the pages of your sourcebook. All I ask is that you document your process and what you are working on. This will involve some photo documentation and writing ShakaGrafitti
