The Basics • WHO IS PHAB? • The Public Health Accreditation Board (PHAB) is the national entity that accredits all health departments. Public health department accreditation is defined as the development of a set of standards, a process to measure health department performance against those standards, and reward or recognition for those health departments who meet the standards.

Our Site Visit 2 days: December 12 & 13 Session specific to BOH (lunch provided) Session specific to community partners December 13- at Gallatin County Health Center Staff involvement: PHAB Team, TRDHD Management Submit Final Report to TRDHD within 2 weeks Official Decision expected February/March
Three River’s Accreditation Process 2004- Dr. Georgia Heise hired 2007- Assessments began 2008- Assessments continued, Community Partnerships formed 2009- Strategic planning complete, vision/mission and Quality Improvement training for staff 2010- Community Health Assessment complete 2011- Accreditation Coordinator appointed and Community Health Improvement Plan complete, Board of Health trainings 2012- Official Site Visit

BOH Discussion Site visits are designed to gain understanding and information. Most questions will be broad in nature. This is our chance to brag on Three Rivers! Focus is on population health, less on personal health services. Time period of documentation is 2007-2011.
