  3. Mission • To develop a system for the accreditation of environmental laboratories that consists of: • The policies and procedures, interpretations, and guidance documents used by accreditation bodies to implement a national environmental laboratory accreditation program, and • A national database, a forum for small labs, and a forum for non-NELAP states.

  4. Strategies - LASC • Assist TNI NELAP board as needed with review and acceptance of existing NELAC policies • Make recommendation to TNI NELAP Board on acceptance of new TNI standards • Develop policies and procedures to assist ABs in implementing new standards

  5. Subcommittee #1 • Small Laboratories • Brooke Connor - Chair • This group has succeeded in their mission, and will now disperse as a committee and the participating members will assist with Technical Assistance Committee (TAC) and the mentoring forums.

  6. Subcommittee #2 • Non-NELAP AA • Ann Marie Allen - Chair • Refocused and now considered the Affiliate/Associate Accreditation Body • Meeting in Patio Room Tuesday at 9am

  7. Subcommittee #3 • National Database • Dan Hickman - Chair • Completed an IT/QA plan and Database Development Plan. • Turned these documents over to NFSTC to develop an RFP for the National Database.

  8. National Database (cont.) • Published new Method Code Table and have requests to add 73 new methods. • Working on additions to the Technology Table. • Now discussing the draft updated Analyte Code Table. This table had duplicate entries removed and new analytes added. • Meeting in Garden II, Tuesday at noon.

  9. LASC Highlights • Standards Interpretation SOP • Purpose • This SOP describes the process to follow for interpretations of the 2003 NELAC Standards and Approved TNI Standards.
