  2. Mason County, Kentucky. Harriet Beecher Stowe visited this home in Washington, Mason County, Ky. While visiting in Washington she saw slaves sold at public auction which was the basis of her novel Uncle Tom's Cabin. 1900 - 1954

  3. Mason County, Kentucky. The house in Washington, Ky., where Harriet Bleacher Stowe stayed when preparing material for Uncle Tom's Cabin. It was here at Washington that she saw "Uncle Tom" sold on the slave block at the Courthouse door. The old Courthouse burned in 1909.
