Who is CenterPoint Energy? • CenterPoint Energy is an electric transmission and distribution utility serving the Houston metropolitan area serving over 5 million meters in the greater Houston metropolitan area. • CenterPoint also manages natural gas distribution businesses in six states and a competitive natural gas sales and service business serving customers in the eastern half of the U.S. • CenterPoint manages interstate pipeline operations with two natural gas pipelines in the mid-continent region, and a field services business with natural gas gathering operations, also in the mid-continent region. • CenterPoint is a well established company with substantial assets that are managed by experienced people.

Program goals • Reduce energy consumption • Single-speed swimming pool pumps are generally the second largest energy consuming appliance in the home (after HVAC system). • Variable-speed pumps can be up to 80% more efficient • 2014 Program Energy Savings Goal is 1,731,988 kWh. • Savings for CenterPoint Energy electric distribution customers • Variable-speed technology results in monthly savings. • One of the best ROI opportunities for a homeowner. • Drive business to our partners • Rebate incentive will require customers to come to you.
Incentives and Payment Priority • Rebate applications are to be paid to Program Partners on a First-Come-First-Serve basis. • Rebate applications are processed in the order they are received at the submission portal: • www.houstonpoolpumps.com • Rebate applications submitted within two (2) weeks of pump installation are guaranteed. • Rebate applications submitted after this are not guaranteed. • Failure to submit rebate applications in a timely manner can result in non-payment if program funds are exhausted.
Important Dates and Deadlines 2014 Submission Deadline: November 30, 2014 • All 2014 rebate applications must be submitted by or before 11/30/14 • Only exception is early program termination due to exhausted funding limits • In the case of early termination, Program Partners must immediately cease offering the incentive to customers and will be given 60 days from the termination date to submit ALL OUTSTANDING rebate applications that were generated prior to the termination date.

How it works • Sell a program approved variable-speed pump accompanied with installation & calibration to a qualifying residential CenterPoint Energy electric distribution customer. • Customer must be a CenterPoint Energy electric distribution customer. • Pool pump must be installed on a single family, residential, in-ground swimming pool. • Pool pump must be a qualifying new unit (replacement motors do not qualify). • Water features, slides, stand-alone spas, and booster pumps do not qualify.
How it works • Apply a discount in the amount of $225.00 to the pump at the point of sale. • Ensure that the sales invoice or receipt denotes “CenterPoint Energy Instant Rebate” next to or under the discount line. • Only approved program partners will be reimbursed by CenterPoint Energy for this discount.
How it works • Install the pump and calibrate to maximize energy savings. • Training and assistance with calibrations are available through your local field coordinator, the program portal, or the variable-speed pump manufacturer representative. • Take special care when programming the pump speeds and time schedules to ensure the pool’s specific needs are met.
How it works • Complete the rebate and calibration form. • Obtain information from the existing pool pump in retrofit scenarios. • Verify that form includes the customer ESI-ID number, as well as the customer signature on page one and calibration technician signature on page two.

Reasons for Rebate Application Rejections – “Non-Qualified” • Incomplete Rebate application (all blanks MUST be completed) • No Customer signature on Rebate application form • Customer determined NOT to be located in the CenterPoint Energy service area • Pump was not on the approved products list • Pump was installed, but not calibrated • Any misrepresentation of falsification of data on the rebate form
Payments • Payment Details • Time frame – payments for qualified applications will be reviewed and paid within 30 days of submission at the portal www.houstonpoolpumps.com • Frequency - If a substantial quantity of submissions are encountered in any two week period, the Program may at its discretion generate payments on a more frequent basis • Location – All payments will be mailed to the address indicated on the W-9 you submitted when you applied to become a Program Partner.
