Sometimes then you write sentences, you use the word no or words that mean “no”. A word that makes a sentence mean “no” is called a negative. No one picked the beans I didn’t water the garden.
The words no, no one, nobody, none, nothing, nowhere, and never are negatives. The words not and contractions made with not are also negatives. Never use two negatives in a sentence.
Helen Keller couldn’t see or hear (any, no) help. Her parents had never given her (any, no) training. No one had (never, ever) helped their daughter. Helen couldn’t go (nowhere, anywhere) by herself. Her parents couldn’t teacher her (anything, nothing). She hadn’t (no, any) teacher until Annie Sullivan came.
