10. 1. Introductory Paragraph If you have read the Percy Jackson and the Olympians books, you know that Percy has been through a lot and found out that he can do a lot. He has learned how to find his way around the world of men and the world of of gods and monsters. He has made many friends in the world of gods, and he has learned to control his considerable powers. However, in Rick Riordan’s newest book, The Son of Neptune, Percy Jackson starts out lost, lonely, and unsure of himself.

He has been wandering around California, not even knowing if he has ever been there before. His “homing radar” is telling him that he is close to the end of his journey, but he can not figure out how that can be.
