  1. Which Fiber You Should Use in Rug ?

  2. Carpet Fibers, Which One To Choose And Why? Despite what you might think, there is more than one type of carpet fiber. How do you know which type of fiber is best and what makes them different from each other? Is fiber construction important? For starters, we can divide fibers into two main categories: • natural fibers • synthetic fibers

  3. Tree types of synthetic fiber: There are three types of synthetic fiber: • polypropylene (also known as olefin) • polyester and • nylon. As for natural fibers, wool is the most common type of fiber. Also, be aware that 99% of the rugs available on the market are rugs made of synthetic fiber.

  4. 1- Synthetic fibers There are three types of Synthetic fibers: • Polypropylene • Nylon • Polyester

  5. Nylon Nylon fiber handmade rugs are often more expensive than other types of synthetic fiber. Nylon is flexible and offers versatility in creating style. It has good resilience, abrasion resistance, a good memory for twisting the wire, hides dirt well and has some resistance to stains. Due to the strength of the fiber, the nylon fiber mat is a great choice for areas with heavy traffic.

  6. Polypropylene Polypropylene fiber is the most resistant fiber in terms of color. Despite prolonged exposure to light, sunlight or cleaning chemicals, the color will not fade due to its pigmentation process. This type of process makes color an integral part of the fiber.

  7. The weakness of polypropylene is its lower resistance than other types of synthetic fiber. It is often chosen for its resistance to fading and is ideal in bedrooms and basements, ie rooms with a low circulation rate.

  8. Polyester Polyester fiber is the ultimate choice when looking for stain resistance and softness. It also pleases limited budgets and offers a very good return for its price. To ensure optimum performance, it is best to opt for a long-haired polyester fiber with a medium-high density. It will give you long-term resistance and will keep its appearance better.

  9. 2- Natural fibers Oldest Wool Handmade Bokhara rugs made of wool are the most common natural fiber rugs on the market. That said, who says natural fiber says price higher than synthetic fibers. People who opt for a wool rug do so for the chic side it provides. Wool is also thicker than synthetic fibers.

  10. There are of course other types of natural fiber such as sisal, seagrass, jute, bamboo, coir or even banana fiber. However, they are difficult to find on the market, very expensive and difficult to maintain.
