Addressing Three Objections to Biblical Gender Roles • They are a product of the fall and sin. • They foster inequality that leads to abuse. • Equality cannot exist where leadership is not shared equally.   4. Objection #1 - Biblical gender roles are a product of the fall and sin. • Gen 1:26-28 Created Equal& Distinct • Gen 2:18-25 Created to Compliment • Gen 3:1-16 The Fall assumes Adam’s headship. (Vs. 9,17, and Romans 5:12)

  5. Objection #2 - Biblical gender roles fosters inequality that leads to abuse. “Male domination is a personal moral failure. NOT a biblical doctrine” Ray Ortlund

  6. Objection #3 - Equality cannot exist where leadership is not shared equally. • Equality is not sameness. • Subordination is not denigration.

  7. Genesis 1:26–27 26Then God said, “Let us make man in our image, after our likeness. And let them have dominion over the fish of the sea and over the birds of the heavens and over the livestock and over all the earth and over every creeping thing that creeps on the earth.” 27 So God created man in his own image, in the image of God he created him; male and female he created them.
