  2. Tourism Tourism is a major way that people earn money. Tourism goes well because Sri Lankans have great hospitality. Big attractions include beaches, ancient cities, wildlife, and rural areas.

  3. Greetings and Gestures • Normal greeting is to place one’s palms together in front of the chest and bow head slightly • Titles are important • Right hand- passing objects, eating • Left hand- personal hygiene • Head is the most sacred part of the body • Bottoms of feet are least sacred

  4. Diet and Food Lunch is usually the largest meal of the day Silverware isn’t routinely used Families almost always eat together Fast-food restaurants aren’t popular Common foods include rice, curry, fish, nuts, bread, coconuts, fruits and vegetables, and tea

  5. Recreation Volleyball is national sport Most Sri Lankans enjoy playing cricket - can be played in streets, yards and parks - popularity has increased since they won a world title Kite flying is popular
