1. Welcome to the North National Junior Honor Society Faculty Advisor- Ms. Wright Co-Advisor- Ms. Deen Faculty Advisory Board- Ms. Weaver, Ms. Brown, Mr. Founds, Ms. Thomas Principal- Mr. Relich

2. The purpose of the National Junior Honor Society is to create enthusiasm for scholarship, to stimulate a desire to render service, to promote leadership, to develop character, and to encourage good citizenship in the students of secondary schools.

3. NJHS is: • A co-curricular activity that actively supports the educational goals of the school

4. NJHS is: • A national recognition program established in 1929 by NASSP and found in public and private schools in every state as well as in schools in more than 70 countries

5. NJHS is: • An opportunity to involve chapter members in significant learning experiences, especially in the area of service

6. NJHS is: • Inclusive- open to all students who choose to apply themselves and consequently meet the five established criteria of scholarship, leadership, service, citizenship, and character

7. NJHS is: • A chance for the faculty to bestow membership; membership is a privilege, not a right of students

8. NJHS is: • A program with national guidelines with opportunity for significant local input to reflect local educational standards

9. NJHS is: • A program for all middle level schools
