  2. What has been happening? We have produced information: • Safe Places DVD • Video address: http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/safeplaces • Leaflets • Webpages address: http://www.warwickshire.gov.uk/safeplaces • Information Packs • Window Stickers

What has been happening? • Started the pilot in Leamington and Warwick. • Held briefing session on the 2nd July • Worked with PCSO’s to identify potential safe places. • Raised awareness during LD week in June. • Developed safe places register website address - • Distributed Hate Crime cards to adults with LD in the Pilot area.

  5. What has been happening? Keeping Safe training with Voice UK 10 people with LD successfully completed a 10 week course: • Safety in the home • Fire safety • safe places • Visit to the justice centre in Leamington. • Friendships (online safety) • The training also looked at presentation skills.

  6. What will be happening next? • Evaluate pilot at the end of Sept 2012. • PCSO’s and Safe Place Champions reviewing each safe place. - Gathering feedback from safe places about the scheme • Plan the next pilot in Rugby to start from October 2012 - Identifying potential safe places - Work with PCSO and Community hubs - Distribute hate crime cards and raise awareness with local media and newsletter.

  7. What will be happening next? Network Challenge • A group 16 to 18 year olds successfully bid for funding to run a campaign on Safe Places – Saturday 22nd Sept in Leamington Spa • Morning – sourcing and talking to potential safe places in Leamington • Afternoon – having an information stand in the Royal Priors Shopping Centre – raising awareness to the general public.

  8. Next steps We will be planning for phased pilots to be carried out in the following areas: • Stratford Upon Avon • North Warwickshire (Atherstone and Coleshill, Tamworth tbc) • Nuneaton and Bedworth
