What is Ed? • Elasticity is a measure of how much buyers and sellers respond to changes in market conditions. • Price elasticity of demand (Ed) measures how the quantity demanded (Qd) of a good responds to changes in the price (P) of that good. • Ed is always negative, so economists use its absolute value.
