  1. What is it? • Sexual propagation is the production of plants from seeds. • The new plants are not exactly the same as the parent plants, but they are close enough for most uses.

  2. Exchange Gametes in Plants • Pollen from male flowers is carried from the stamen to the stigma of a flower. • The pollen then moves down the style to the ovary where the ovum is fertilized. Anther Pollen Grain Style Pollen Tube Filament Ovary Ovule

  3. The pollen may be carried to the stigma by wind, insects, birds, or animals. Pollen Carriers

  4. After pollination..... • The ovum becomes a seed. • The plant begins to store food for the seed. • Fruit is made.
