Light, Functional and EasyUsing the GeoXH as a Base Station A Setup Guide
But What is a Base Station • Any GNSS receiver that records to file constellation variances that can be used to post process rover data. • Traditional Bases station
Why would you use a mapping unit? • Where you need a position better than autonomous GPS • No local base station is available • Where the baseline is greater than 300km • Where RTK precision is not needed • Where realtime positioning is not a requirement Example • Creating control for photo rectification • Mapping services in remote Islands • Vegetation mapping on remote islands • Faster Access to PP data • EgStaight away • You don’t have access to free data
What do you need? • GeoXH • TerraSync Pro Optional • Pole with Geo Clamp • Bipod • Tornado antenna This is not an option for users using Arcpad with GPS Correct extension
How? Change File type to Base Default name is Base followed by reverse date/ time
Selecting Antenna and Logging options Enter the correct antenna height 5sec logging is fine for base files Select the type of antenna
Position Use the Here button if location is unknown If setting up over a know mark enter coordinates
