  1. Can Young People Make a Difference in School? I will: • Identify the main problems in the school. • Suggest some possible solutions to problems in the school. • Prepare to survey members of the school population about changes they would like to see made within the school. • 1i; 2a; 2b; 2c; 3b

  2. Working towards: Pupils are able to suggest some basic solutions for problems within school. Working at: Pupils are able to suggest numerous solutions for problems within school. They acknowledge that some of the problems are complex and that the solutions are not straight forward. Working beyond: Pupils are able to suggest numerous developed solutions for problems within school. They acknowledge that some of the problems can only be altered if people’s attitudes change.

  3. Problems in School Work in groups of 4 to identify the problem areas within school that need improving. Problems within school.

  4. Choose the three areas that you think are the most problematic and suggest some possible solutions.

  5. Do these problems just effect members of the school community?

Conducting a Survey to Identify School Issues • You will be designing a survey to discover what things people would like changed in your school. • You will use the results to write a ‘manifesto’ for change and decide how you could use the information to try to get things changed in your school.
