Starting of LIS Education in India • FIRST Training class in India – at Imperial Library( Now National Library) Kolkata , in 1901 by John Macfarlac. • FIRST Library school – 1911 - W.A. Borden, American Librarian, first class in Central Library, Baroda. • FIRST University Level class – 1915 – A. Dickenson, American Librarian - Punjab University, Lahore( now in Pakistan).
