Using WS FTP to transfer files to the Internet profile name: enter anything you want in this space hostname: enter icarus.cc.uic.edu Host type: Automatic detect User ID: enter the first part of your e-mail address (everything to the left of the @.uic.edu part) Password: enter the password you use for your e-mail account

  2. left-hand side (local system) a directory of files on your computer right-hand side (remote system) a directory of files on the web server your internet files are in the public_html folder

  3. to send a file from your computer (local) to the web (remote), select the file name on the left and click the -> button. to send a file from your web space to your computer, select the file name on the right and click the <- button.
