  4. Federal Funding Sources Meal Reimbursements (after service) Labor, supplies, and food costs paid pre-service. USDA Entitlement Program Entitlement allocation to CCS Child Nutrition for commodities. 2013-14: $242,000

State Funding Sources Senate Bill 415 Eliminate Cost/Reduced Price School Breakfast effective July 1, 2011 Entitles REDUCED APPLICATION students to a FREE breakfast INTENT: To demonstrate the importance of breakfast to students. Allotment is only for the purpose stated above. Unused funds at the end of the school year remain with the state. Depletion of funds, before year end requires the LEA to execute one of the following: Require students qualifying for reduced price meals to pay for their breakfast at $0.30 per meal School system is required to reimburse Child Nutrition for the reduced price breakfasts served upon depletion of existing allocation from point of depletion through the end of the school year

  8. Child Nutrition Expenses FOOD COST The Healthy Hunger Free Kids ACT of 2010 mandated menu pattern changes including larger portions of fruits and vegetables, increasing food costs. On average, the Child Nutrition Program spends $1.2 million yearly on purchased food.
