6. Beijing 北京 • English Beijing is the second largest Chinese city by urban population after Shanghai and is the nation's political, cultural, and educational centre. It is home to the headquarters of most of China's largest state-owned companies. Few cities in the world have been the political and cultural centre of an area as immense for so long. Beijing is one of the "Four Great Ancient Capitals of China" and has been the political centre of China for centuries. • Chinese 北京是中国第二大，仅次于上海和城镇人口的城市，是全国的政治，文化和教育中心。它是中国最大的国有企业的总部。在世界上已经很少有城市这么久的面积巨大的政治和文化中心。北京是“四大古都”中国几个世纪以来一直是中国的政治中心。

7. The forbidden city紫禁城 • English The forbidden city was situated on the Imperial City during the Mongol Yuan Dynasty. Upon the establishment of the Ming Dynasty, the HongwuEmperor moved the capital from Beijing in the north to Nanjing in the south, and ordered that the Yuan palaces be burnt down. 8. Great wall of china 中国长城 • The Great Wall, is one of the greatest wonders of the world, was listed as a World Heritage by UNESCO in 1987. Just like a gigantic dragon, the Great Wall winds up and down across deserts, grasslands, mountains and plateaus, stretching approximately 8,851.8 kilometers (5,500 miles) from east to west of China. With a history of more than 2000 years, some of the sections are now in ruins or have disappeared.
