  2. Improving Efficiency Workforce Development 2003 Accomplishments $74,813 • Operations Employees attended at least one training session upgrade competency level. Training topics included: • Basic PC Skills & Introduction to TCP/IP • ADSL Full Install - Internal Trainer • Central Office- Lucent, Nortel, AFC, etc • Data in the Loop & T1/HDSL & Test Meter • Service Call Selling Workshop • Business Phone Systems • Reduced Dependency on Outside Contractors e.g. Compusa • Improved Service Results – DSL CTRR, Mean time to Repair, % install failures

Improving Efficiency 2004 Workforce Development Goals $ 89,749 Budget • Upgrade Employee Skill sets – Compete in Data Centric Communications Industry! • New Employees up to speed as soon as possible. • Reduce Dependency on Outside Contractors & Vendors • Share resource – SME Database • Improve Service Results through workforce development • Challenge Employees – Strive for Life Long Learning • Know Products & Services and Current Promotions

Improving Efficiency Workforce Development - How do we get there? • Identify Training needs - Complete • Identify Vendors and In-house experts to conduct classes - In Progress • Request $100,000 NYS Grant for Building Skills in NY State - New Technology Requirements - Application complete, meetings with County Representatives has taken place. • Schedule & Conduct classes • Sell Sell Sell • Expose employees to installation and maintenance of products and services that require use of this new knowledge. Share Knowledge • IP Fundamentals including Packet Based Telephony • DSL (ADSL, BDSL, SDSL, HDSL, VDSL) • VPN (Virtual Private Networks) • PBX & Phone Systems - Nortel BCM & Succession, Mitel PBX • Wireless home networks • Broadband Access & Transport • ATM & Frame Relay
