If I’m walking near a river would I know it’s you and how? You would probably know its me. Because I am black and or brown and I’m also medium in size and weight. And that’s why I think you would probably see me when your walking by a river.
Even though your name is Northern River Otter do you live any where else? We don’t have to live in the north we are found in all different places like Alaska,India,Californa,NewYork,Aisa, Brazil, Texas, and even New Mexico. That’s where we are found.
Are you a carnivore , herbivore or omnivore? I am an omnivore I eat both meat and plants. I eat crayfish , fish , birds , bird eggs , fish eggs and seaweed even though I am an omnivore I eat mostly meat . I am an omnivore.
Do you live a long life and how many babies do you have per litter? We don’t live a long life. Very rarely we live 10years usually we live only 8-9years. That’s not very long! As for babies we have 1-6 river otters per litter. 1 baby otter easy but 6 a little much.
Do humans harm or hunt you and why? Sadly yes people hunt me and my kind. People mainly hunt me for my fur and hide because it soft and attractive it’s also very valuable . So people hunt me and my species.
Do you hibernate during the winter? We do not hibernate we have a lot of fun slipping and sliding on the ice. We love to race through the snow all winter long. That’s what we do in the winter.
Do you live alone or with other otters ? I live both alone and in groups. Are groups that we live in are called rafts we bundle together when its to cold. So we live together and alone
