  6. I am pleased to meet you. Mucho gusto en conocerlo/la • The pleasure is mine. El gusto es mío.

  7. I will talk with you later. Hablaré con usted(es) después. • Good-bye. Adiós.

  8. Helpful Phrases • Do you speak English? ¿Habla Usted inglés? • I am doctor...I am a pediatrician. Soy médico/a. Also, soy pediátra.

  10. Excuse me. Perdóneme. • I’m sorry. Lo siento.

  11. I do not speak Spanish very well. No hablo espanol muy bien. • I do not understand. No entiendo.

  20. For the following, one can use the informal “tú” form, especially when talking directly to your patients.

  22. Please turn over, turn around. Por favor, voltéate. • Please do this. Por favor, haz esto. • Please look at this. Por favor, mira esto.

  23. Please bend over and touch your toes. Por favor agáchate y toca tus pies. • Please walk that way. Por favor camina hacia alla.

  24. Open your mouth and say aah. Abra tu boca y dime “aah”. • Stick out your tongue. Saca la lengua.

  25. Breathe deeply with your mouth open. Respira profundo con tú boca abierto. • Relax your stomach. Relaja el estómago.

  26. Relax. Relájate. (also, tranquilo; calmáte) • Do not be afraid. No tienes miedo.
